After a three year COVID-hiatus, our quiz night is back on Saturday 19th November at 7:15pm in the Clubhouse. Quiz Master Keith will pose a range of general knowledge questions to teams of 6, while you enjoy a delicious dinner of chilli with jacket potato (meat or vegan options available) and BYO drinks. You can enter as a pre-arranged team, but on previous occasions most people have formed their team on arrival so just sign up and join the fun!

The cost for this fabulous night of entertainment with your fellow members and their guests is just £12 per-person, including the dinner. We have limited space in the clubhouse so advance sign-up is essential: please refer to the recent email newsletter, or posters in the clubhouse, for details. Non-member guests are very welcome.

We are very pleased to be part of the World's Largest Coffee Morning in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. Members, parents, prospective members, friends and family, are all welcome to join in the fun, and there will be some relaxed social tennis available (weather permitting).

Friday 28th September from 10am – 1pm. Donations of cakes to sell and eat greatly appreciated. For further details see the Macmillan website or contact Sarah Lawrence-Taylor on 07905 189 025 or shlawrencetaylor@hotmail.com.

Many of you told us you really enjoyed the coach-led social session José hosted earlier in the summer. We are therefore pleased to announce that it will be returning on Saturday 15th September at 1:30pm, and thereafter the first Saturday of every month

José has a wealth of different ideas for these sessions so each one will be a little bit different but expect tennis themed fun with your fellow members, followed by some enjoyable sets of doubles. Dates for the rest of the year are (all starting at 1:30pm)

  • Saturday 6th October
  • Saturday 3rd November
  • Saturday 1st December

The  joint weekend social sessions with Wilton LTC will also be continuing into September, 3-6pm. Currently confirmed dates at 15th and 16th September.

Now the World Cup and Wimbledon have concluded, there's no longer any exciting sport to tempt to you stay at home with the telly instead of getting out and on court for social tennis! As an added bonus, Saturday 28th July will also be our Summer Social Barbecue for all members and their guests. Barbecue items will be provided, please bring along a side, salad or cake if you are able. As usual, it is BYO drinks. 🍻🍷 Social tennis will start at 2pm and the barbecue will run all afternoon.

From 28th July and all through August, we will be running longer weekend social sessions with players from nearby Wilton LTC joining in from 3pm while their courts are refurbished. Since the barbecue is the first joint session with Wilton it should be a lovely afternoon of tennis and the chance to meet some new players. Please do come along and join in regardless of your playing standard.

If you opted-in to the LTA Club ballot then come along on Sunday 29th April to find out if you have won the chance to buy some great tickets. You do not need to be present to win but those winners in attendance will have first choice of the available tickets. Other winners will be contacted via email afterwards. The first name will be drawn from the hat at 4pm, all are welcome, and the Club will be laying on refreshments to make the afternoon a properly social occasion.

At 2pm on the same day,  Senior Members are invited to play in a fun tournament. We will be using a new format called "Davis Cup" where two teams battle it out over the course of multiple matches. This format should provide an enjoyable afternoon for all standards of play, so please come along and have fun whether you are a relatively recent player who has never been to a Club Social, or someone who represents the Club in team matches.

All are warmly invited to visit our club on Sunday 9th July between 1 and 4pm. Our fantastic coaching team will be offering some free coaching sessions, including the brand new fun way to keep fit with a tennis racquet, cardio tennis. You can also play a few games with your friends, or some social sets with our friendly and welcoming existing members. The barbecue will be running throughout the afternoon (weather permitting).

Secure your place by signing up online at Great British Tennis Weekend website. If you enjoy yourself you will definitely want to take advantage of our amazing value membership so don't forget to bring your cheque book to secure some special one-day only deals on coaching.

On Saturday 25th March we will be organising a special afternoon of tennis and fun to celebrate the arrival of spring and the start of the new membership year. The coming year will feature an exciting new coaching programme under Head Coach José Marquez and his All Court Coaching squad. To showcase their talents the event will kick off at 1:30pm with two 30 minute Cardio Tennis sessions. Alongside that there will be the opportunity to play doubles in the new quick-fire Fast4 tennis format before relaxing over some delicious afternoon tea at 3:30pm in time for the Club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 3:45pm.

So it doesn't matter if you've been playing tennis through winter rain and snow, or are feeling like your racquet is a bit rusty, come along from 1:30pm on Saturday 25th March and enjoy a day of fine tennis, try some new things and socialise with your fellow members.
