Due to the very wet weather forecast for Saturday we have decided to postpone coach-led social until the following week (10th October). We hope you will be able to join Head Coach, José, at 1:30pm for an hour of fun games and drills, followed by some convivial sets of social doubles. This regular (pre-covid) feature of the club calendar is very popular with players of all experience levels, from club social regulars to "rusty racquets".

Don't worry if you can't make it this month, it will be back on Saturdays 7th November and 5th December.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Finals Day in early September a success, especially with all the extra work that was required to comply with the COVID regulations.

Spectators were treated to two high quality games of tennis in warm and sunny conditions. In the Ladies Doubles, Liz & Steph beat Louise & Naomi 6-2 6-3, and in the Mixed Doubles, Sam & Sarah beat Dave & Liz 7-5 6-0.

We were unfortunately unable to play the Mens Doubles Final due to COVID Quarantine restrictions. James and Ryan will now play Warren and Nev later in the Autumn. Update: Nev and Warren won 6-0 6-4 when the final was played on 24th October.

The LTA, in consultation with the government, have confirmed that from Monday informal social play is limited to groups of no more than 6 individuals, but organised activities such as coaching, competitions and club sessions are exempt from this rule provided they are compliant with the appropriate LTA COVID-19 guidelines.

The club has already taken the necessary steps to implement the LTA Guidelines so we expect all competitions, coaching courses and club sessions to continue as planned.

In light of the rising infection rate it is imperative that all players implement good practices when playing, including not attending if feeling unwell, washing hands frequently, maintaining 2m distance from others (especially before and after playing) and avoiding skin-to-skin contact.

Players attending organised club sessions are reminded to follow the existing COVID-19 protocol. The club has also enrolled in the new NHS QR Code Contact Tracing scheme and logging your participation in a club social session will be mandatory once the app launches on 24th September. There is currently one poster displaying the QR code in the clubhouse kitchen window (on your right before you reach the door), and we will add further weatherproof posters to the court gates in due course.
