This coming Saturday, 5th September, is the conclusion of the Club Championships. Normally the highlight of the Club's social calendar, we are unable to put on the usual barbecue and sumptuous buffet, but please do come along to support your fellow members and enjoy some fine tennis.

Play will begin at 1pm with the Ladies' Doubles Final, followed by the Men's Doubles and concluding with the Mixed Doubles. Volunteers for line judges are very welcome, this is a particular treat for the players being able to concentrate on playing and not call their own lines!

Please bring your own picnic food and drinks. Tea and coffee will be available but it will be served by a Committee member, there will be no access to the kitchen. Please also bring an umbrella in case of rain showers, there is limited space in the clubhouse for sheltering and priority will be given to players.

We ask that all attendees use the sign in/out sheets at the gate so we have a record for Test & Trace, and masks are recommended for spectators.

Update: This work has been completed and the courts will be available to play again on Friday 18th from 8am.

The feedback from members about the re-colouring of courts 4 & 5 earlier in the year has been very positive. It has also shown up the wear on courts 1, 2 and 3! We are informed that September is the last month in which it is normally possible to re-colour courts so we have scheduled this to take place from Tuesday 15th September. If the weather is fine then it will take about 1 week before they they are playable again, although we found in July the start date had to be postponed several times due to wind and rain.

In preparation for the work, courts 1–3 will be power washed on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd September.

The courts have been marked as Closed for Maintenance in the booking sheet, and we are sorry that ClubSpark displays this information so poorly that it does not say this clearly. ClubSpark are apparently aware of the defect and working to fix it. As the actual dates of the work becomes clearer based on the weather forecast, we will post regular updates on our Facebook Page.

The juniors enjoyed their tennis camps so much that Head Coach José has decided to offer one for adults, Monday 24th-Friday 28th August from 10:30am-12:30pm each day.

Each day José and his coaching team will focus on a specific shot, teaching you new skills, honing it with some fun drills and then putting it into practice in a singles match.

You can join 1, 2, 3, 4 or all 5 sessions depending on your schedule. Each session costs £20 for two hours, and places are limited so book online today!

We are also pleased to announce that all Autumn term coaching courses are also now bookable online.
