On Sunday 7th May, join us for the draw of the Club's 2017 allocation of Wimbledon tickets!

There will be a social "American" Tournament at 2pm, followed by afternoon tea, and the first name drawn from the hat at 4pm. Please note, only those members who have opted-in on the LTA website are eligible for the draw but the rest of the afternoon is open to all senior members.

An American tournament is a fun way to play doubles with a variety of different partners and opponents over the course of an afternoon. Each player keeps their track of the number of individual games he or she has won in each set and the nominal winner is the person who has won the most games at the end of the day. It is a great introduction to social tennis for newcomers to the club, or those improvers who want to try out their new skills at a club session. For regular club players it is a fun alternative to the usual tennis format.

While we will try to accommodate everyone on the day, spaces are limited so please do sign up in the club house to secure your place.

José Marquez All Court Coaching is pleased to offer a new LTA-sponsored coaching course for women, 09:30-10:30am on Tuesdays.

Do you play or did you used to play fairly regularly during the summer? You can not only get the ball over the net and are comfortable with forehands and backhands but can also control the direction of the ball? You know where to stand and how to score? Join us at Tennis Tuesdays and book your session from the end of April.

For more details see tennistuesdays.co.uk and book online. Sessions start 25th April. Don't forget we are also running the Tennis Xpress beginners course from 12th May.

Whether it is the recent sunshine or Johanna Konta's tournament winning form that has inspired you to play tennis, we would love to welcome you to our club on Saturday 22nd April between 1 and 4pm. Our fantastic coaching team will be offering some free coaching sessions, including the brand new fun way to keep fit with a tennis racquet, cardio tennis. You can also try out the club's modern courts and play a few games with your friends, or play some social sets with our friendly and welcoming existing members. The afternoon will conclude with a delicious afternoon tea.

In a break from tradition, this year the Club Championships Finals will be held on Saturday 2nd September, with Sunday 3rd as a backup in the event of bad weather. This day is always a highlight of the Club's social calendar with a full programme of exciting tennis matches to enjoy followed by a barbecue and drinks late into the evening. Please do save the date!

The sign up sheet for entry into the Club Championship will be going up in the Clubhouse shortly. As always, the doubles pairs will be drawn at random so everyone has a chance of playing some enjoyable and fun tennis. There will also be no entry fee this year and the draws will be made on Sunday 7th May so you must sign up before then.

Good luck to all entrants!
