To round off what has been a busy year for our younger players we will be holding a tounament across two weekends this year. July 2 is the day dedicated to our youngest players and July 9 will be for our older players to compete for the RPRLTC junior title. This means normal Saturday Junior coaching will be suspended and the tournaments mark the final sessions of the summer while the coaching team take a well earned break.
Month: May 2016
American Tournament
Thanks to everybody who made it along to Sunday's American Tournament. A fantastic turnout with more than 20 members choosing not to watch Andy Murray cruise through to the quarter finals of the French Open and instead join in the play. In fact, it was such a success that the Sunday American tournament will now become a regular monthly event. Well done to all who played!
Great British Tennis Weekend
Raynes Park Residents Lawn Tennis Club will once again this year be taking part in the LTA's Great British Tennis Weekend. On Sunday May 15 the club will throw open its doors to prospective new members. Jose is offering coaching sessions for children and adults from 10am until 2pm. Then from 2pm until 5pm there will be a free to play session where visitors can use the courts.
The committee will be out in force to welcome and visitors and answer any questions and we urge members to pop down and join in. We also would welcome any budding bakers who want to bring along a cake or pastry to show off what a hospitable club we are.
Social tennis will be suspended during the Open Day and the courts will not be available for normal use.
