Congratulations to our First Team Men who finished second in their division of the Winter League, receiving a deserved promotion to the division above for next season. This is their fourth promotion since 2013! Seven players participated in five matches throughout the cold and often windy winter season so do congratulate them when you see them around the club. The seven players are: Warren, Neville, Arunan, Alex, Mike, Axel and Milen.

On Saturday 25th March we will be organising a special afternoon of tennis and fun to celebrate the arrival of spring and the start of the new membership year. The coming year will feature an exciting new coaching programme under Head Coach José Marquez and his All Court Coaching squad. To showcase their talents the event will kick off at 1:30pm with two 30 minute Cardio Tennis sessions. Alongside that there will be the opportunity to play doubles in the new quick-fire Fast4 tennis format before relaxing over some delicious afternoon tea at 3:30pm in time for the Club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 3:45pm.
So it doesn't matter if you've been playing tennis through winter rain and snow, or are feeling like your racquet is a bit rusty, come along from 1:30pm on Saturday 25th March and enjoy a day of fine tennis, try some new things and socialise with your fellow members.
This summer Raynes Park Residents Lawn Tennis Club is planning to introduce Summer Tennis Camps.
The camps will be based on fun, teamwork and tennis and will last for three hours each day starting at 9.30am and finishing at 12.30pm. The cost will be £20 per day per member of the club and £25 per day for non-members.
The weeks we are proposing to run the camps are as follows:

Book early to avoid disappointment by calling head coach José Marquez on 07941 231829 or email email@example.com.
Update: The LTA have resolved the problem and members can now affiliate to Raynes Park Residents LTC online for free.
We have been made aware that there is currently a problem with the LTA website which makes it impossible to sign up as a new British Tennis Member affiliated to RPRLTC. The LTA are working to rectify their systems and we will update this post when they have confirmed that sign ups for our members are working again.
9th Feb: The LTA have offered no estimate as to when the problem might be resolved so we can only recommend at this time that members call the LTA Wimbledon Ballot team on 0208 487 7000 and ask them to enroll you manually.
For the last few years the LTA have moved to allocating Wimbledon tickets only to those Club Members who tell the LTA directly via website or phone that they wish to be included in the ballot. You have just 9 days to make sure you are counted for the 2017 ballot! Even if you are not able to attend the Championships this year, should you be lucky enough to win, please do consider opting in anyway because the overall number of tickets allocated to the club is based only on the number of opted-in members and so it increases the chances of another member being able to attend.
If you are already a British Tennis Member (BTM) then you can opt-in at by visiting the members area (you must do this every year). If you are a parent or guardian for a junior member then you must also repeat the process for each child.
If you are not already a BTM affiliated with our club then to opt-in you must:
- register for British Tennis CLUB Membership (it is free)
- choose Raynes Park Residents LTC as your affiliated venue
- once registered, visit the members area and opt-in
If you are experiencing difficulties registering or opting-in then you can also contact the ballot administration team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the team on 0208 487 7000 and selecting option 1.
Remember the deadline is 17th February 2017 so don't delay!

The committee of the Raynes Park Residents Lawn Tennis Club would like to wish our members a very merry Christmas and a prosperous and successful 2017. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the club and on the courts and hope you will continue to enjoy your tennis.
This year was an exciting one for the sport of tennis and for the club. On the back of the success of the Great Britain team in the Davis Cup we hosted a series of events that attracted many new players to the club and the success of Andy Murray continued to capture public's imagination and draw people to the game.
We are looking forward to another year of continued growth and success at the club in 2017. There will be some new coaching initiatives and plenty of opportunities to get involved in the club and play, whether it is in the social sessions, the box leagues or the club tournament.
So from everyone on the committee have a very merry Christmas.
Congratulations to all the children that competed in the final junior tournament of 2016. We had a great turnout of enthusiastic players who are making huge strides with their tennis. We were also delighted that Paul Sadler, club chairman, was able to join us and present some of the prizes and officially open the new Sport England-funded hitting wall.
Thanks must also go to José who put a lot of effort into organising the event to ensure it ran smoothly. He also got the prize for the best seasonally dressed coach of the day.
The tournamet brings an to end a year of of huge change for the Saturday juniors. We said goodbye to long-standing coach Michelle Shanley in March and welcomed José, who was previously running the weekday coaching. Under programme has gone from strength-strength and we now have nearly 60 children attending on Saturday mornings.
And finally thank you to all the children and their parents who have attended and supported the club week in week out, through rain and shine. A very happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year to all our juniors and their parents. We look forward to seeing you all back on court on Saturday January 7th.
