Sarah & Neville won 6-2, 6-2 vs Lucy & Steven

One black eye, a dodgy calf , broken strings and some good tennis were served up to several hardy spectators on Monday night. Despite Lucy's warming up accident and Steve's calf strain, they put up a spirited performance but in the end Sarah and Neville prevailed, the key moment being Sarah's game-winning string-busting volley mid way through the second set!

Many thanks to Sarah for organising a successful tournament and to all it's participants.

The next open day will be on the first Sunday in September, from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Anyone who may be interested in joining the Tennis Club is welcome to come along. Bring a racquet and suitable tennis shoes, and you are welcome to have a game, with no obligation.

Following the granting of planning permission for the redevelopment of the LESSA sports ground, in October 2009, the site has recently been sold to Bellways. It is understood that it is Bellways intention to implement the scheme which has been granted permission, and to respect the obligations which were entered into by the previous owners. These obligations include the offer of new tennis facilities to the Raynes Park Tennis Club, including 5 new tennis courts, and a new clubhouse. Over the coming months the club will be considering the pros and cons of a move and will be seeking the views of Club members.

More information will be posted here and in the newsletter as it becomes available.

Our club has been allocated 24 tickets this year. As soon as we receive details, these will be posted on the club noticeboard.

The draw for these tickets will take place on Sunday 9th May at 3pm. As always, we are strictly following the LTA’s guidelines for conducting the ticket ballot including fully paid up club membership as well as British Tennis membership.

See the noticeboard in the club house this week for full details.
