Tennis Box League 15 May-17 July

Congratulations to David who won this summer's League 1 (see attached). And to Nigel who won League 2, and is promoted to the higher echelons of League 1!

The re-introduction of a Singles League seemed to be successful with the vast majority of matches played so well done all who participated.

The next round will begin shortly so please let me know (nevattwood@yahoo.com) if you wish to participate. All standards welcome.

 7 Aug - RPLTC 3 - 1 Selsdon 3rds

Neville Attwood,Peter Hurford,Graham Keir,Michal Knap

The 2nd team completed their summer league season with a win at home to Selsdon.

We finished with a winning record of 3 wins and 2 losses. Not all the teams have completed their matches but at this stage we are top and we can enjoy it while it lasts!! Whatever the final outcome it has been a successful, enjoyable season. Peter and myself played in all 5 matches and managed to win 8 out of 10 matches -well played Peter. Credit also to Antony(3 matches),Graham(2),Michal(2),Axel(2) and Adam(1 but it was a crucial win!).

Sarah & Neville won 6-2, 6-2 vs Lucy & Steven

One black eye, a dodgy calf , broken strings and some good tennis were served up to several hardy spectators on Monday night. Despite Lucy's warming up accident and Steve's calf strain, they put up a spirited performance but in the end Sarah and Neville prevailed, the key moment being Sarah's game-winning string-busting volley mid way through the second set!

Many thanks to Sarah for organising a successful tournament and to all it's participants.
